Jharkhand's Covid-19 tally crosses 85,000; death toll at 729

Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh are the country’s five worst-hit states, as per Union health ministry's data.

As per the Union health ministry's dashboard, India on Friday logged 81,484 fresh Covid-19 cases and 1,095 deaths which pushed the tally to over 6.39 million. The total cases include 942,217 active cases, over 5.35 million recoveries and 99,773 deaths.

India on Thursday began its fifth stage of unlock, which is also called ‘reopening.’ Various state governments issued guidelines for this phase of unlocking in their respective states, after broader guidelines were released by the ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, United States President Donald Trump and First Lady Melanie Trump tested positive for Covid-19 and will be placed under quarantine. More than 207,000 Americans have been killed by Covid-19 and millions have been infected.

Haryana's Covid-19 tally reaches 129,912 with 1,313 new cases

Haryana on Thursday recorded 1,313 new Covid-19 cases, taking its tally to 129,912. 115,038 recoveries, 13,472 active cases and 1,402 deaths in state.
