Number of recoveries in India rising every day: Harsh Vardhan
As per the Union health ministry's dashboard, India on Friday logged 81,484 fresh Covid-19 cases and 1,095 deaths which pushed the tally to over 6.39 million. The total cases include 942,217 active cases, over 5.35 million recoveries and 99,773 deaths.
India on Thursday began its fifth stage of unlock, which is also called ‘reopening.’ Various state governments issued guidelines for this phase of unlocking in their respective states, after broader guidelines were released by the ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, United States President Donald Trump and First Lady Melanie Trump tested positive for Covid-19 and will be placed under quarantine. More than 207,000 Americans have been killed by Covid-19 and millions have been infected.

Authorities on Friday ordered the lockdown of more than 100 towns and villages across Lebanon after hundreds of people tested positive for the coronavirus in recent days and amid a shortage of hospital beds, reports AP.

Uttar Pradesh recorded 3,946 new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the infection count to 4,06,995 on Friday, according to official data. The death toll from the pandemic stands at 5,917 in the state, Additional chief secretary health, Amit Mohan Prasad said, reports PTI.
