Jharkhand's Covid-19 tally crosses 85,000; death toll at 729

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said Rusia does not plan to reimpose lockdowns across the country for now despite a rise in Covid-19 cases. Russia reported 9,412 new coronavirus cases on Friday, its highest daily tally since May 23, pushing the national total to 1,194,643.

Australia's deputy prime minister Michael McCormack has said Australia will 'residents of New Zealand to enter the country from October 16. Australia had closed its borders in March to contain spread of Covid-19.

The government of UK's department of health and social care has announced further curbs in north east and north west England following rise in Covid-19 cases. From Saturday, residents cannot mix with people outside their household/bubble in any indoor setting, including homes and gardens.

US President Donald Trump's adviser Hope Hicks has tested positive for coronavirus and is experiencing symptoms. Hicks had accompanied Trump to Cleveland for the first of three presidential debates.
