United States president Donald Trump began his maiden two-day India visit on Monday. Trump, accompanied by first lady Melania, daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner and top brass of his administration, arrived in Ahmedabad around 11.40 am for the first-leg of his trip.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the US president at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport in Ahmedabad. The leaders then participated in ‘Namaste Trump’ rally at the Motera Stadium.
After attending the rally, Trump flew to Agra where he and the First Lady Melania Trump spent about an hour at the Taj Mahal before sunset. The delegation arrived in Delhi in the evening where Trump and PM Modi will hold talks on Tuesday.

Motera: The stadium that will host Donald Trump
The Motera stadium will officially open for business today when US President Donald Trump inaugurates the venue on the banks of the Sabarmati.
The Sardar Patel Stadium -- or Motera, as it is simply known -- was first built in 1982 when the state government of Gujarat donated 50 acres of land for its construction. So far, Motera has held one T20I (Pakistan’s final international on Indian soil, played back in 2012), 12 Test matches and 24 ODIs -- the last of which, between India and Sri Lanka in November 2014, was also the final game it hosted before it closed for reconstruction.

At Ahmedabad Ashram, the Trumps tried their hand on spinning the 'charkha'. Trump and first lady Melania Trump removed their shoes before entering the ashram for a tour personally led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Trump signed the guest book, referring to Modi as “my great friend” and thanking him for a “wonderful visit.”

Donald Trump and PM Narendra Modi on Monday embarked on a 22-km- long roadshow from the Ahmedabad International Airport.
Trump, who is on a two-day India visit, landed at the Airport at 11.37 am.
