The coronavirus pandemic has infected more than 7,00,000 and caused more than 30,000 deaths globally. With infections crossing 140,000, the United States has emerged as the new Covid-19 hot spot. President Donald Trump said Sunday that the peak death rate in the United States from the coronavirus pandemic was likely to hit in two weeks. He has also extended the government’s “social distancing” guidelines until April 30. Japan is set to extend its entry ban to include citizens that have travelled to United States, China, Europe and South Korea to stop the spread of the virus.
In India, the number of Covid-19 cases crossed 1,000 on Sunday including the death toll of 29 as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare figures. Fresh cases were reported in Noida, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

New York state surpasses 1,000 coronavirus deaths
New York state's death toll from the coronavirus outbreak climbed Sunday above 1,000, less than a month after the first known infection in the state, reports news agency AP.
Most of the deaths have come in just the past few days.
New York City reported in the evening that its toll had risen to 776. The total number of statewide deaths isn't expected to be released until Monday, but with at least 250 additional deaths recorded outside the city as of Sunday morning, the state's total fatalities was at least 1,026.

An official of Delhi Civil Defence, Shailendra K Nirala said that there are around people in the Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Ghazipur.

S.Korea reports 78 new coronavirus cases, total 9,661
South Korea reported 78 new coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the national tally to 9,661, news agency Reuters reported quoting the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC).
The death toll rose to 158, from 152 a day earlier, while 195 people recovered from the virus, according to the KCDC.
Oil prices slump in Asian trade as coronavirus crisis worsens
Oil prices slumped in Asian trade on Monday, tracking falls on stock markets after a sharp escalation in the coronavirus crisis over the weekend, reports AFP. US benchmark West Texas Intermediate fell 3.9 percent to trade at $20 a barrel, while international benchmark Brent crude was off 4.9 percent at $23 a barrel.
The falls came after the death toll from the pandemic surged past 30,000 at the weekend as cases in hard-hit Europe and the United States rocketed.
FIR against Cong MLA for alleged violation of curfew in Chhattisgarh
An FIR was registered on Saturday against Congress MLA Shailesh Pandey in Chhattisgarh for allegedly violating prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC after he announced distribution of free ration and a crowd gathered outside his residence in Bilaspur: ANI
Defending himself, Pandey said that he was trying to help the needy. "When I saw the crowd outside my bungalow I called Police asking them to disperse the crowd. I was trying to help needy people, there is nothing wrong in it. Why didn't Police stop the crowd?," he said.
President Trump extends 'social distancing' guidelines till April 30
US President Donald Trump on Sunday said that the peak death rate in the United States from the coronavirus pandemic was likely to hit in two weeks and extended "social distancing" guidelines until April 30, reports AFP.
According to a tally by Johns Hopkins University, there are nearly 140,000 confirmed virus cases in the United States and more than 2,400 people have died.
