Shutdowns continue in major cities of the world as governments try to contain the Covid-19 contagion. On Saurday, during his video call with chief ministers of different states, PM Narendra Modi said the next 3-4 weeks are critical to determine impact of steps taken to curb the coronavirus spread.
Whereas CMs sought financial package and extension in lockdown, says Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy after meeting with PM, according to PTI.
After the video call, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that the lockdown in the state will continue till April 30 to prevent Covid-19 spread. Delhi has become the third state after Punjab and Odisha to extend the lockdown.
Migrant workers in Surat block roads, pelt stones
Gujarat police detained several migrant workers who pelted stones and blocked roads as they demanded to go back home in Surat. 60-70 people have been detained.

China reports 34 new coronavirus cases
China saw 34 new asymptomatic Covid-19 cases being reported on Saturday, down by 13 as 47 new cases were reported on Friday, and it also reported 3 new deaths due to coronavirus.

A Johns Hopkins tally says that 2,108 people have died overnight due to coronavirus in United States.

More than a thousand dead due to coronavirus in Brazil
Brazil has seen more than 1,000 deaths due to coronavirus. On Saturday, a teenager from the Yanomani had succumbed to Covid-19. Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil PM, has faced a lot of flak for labelling the fear around coronavirus as 'hysteria'.
Gujarat police uses drones
Police in Rajkot are keeping a close vigil in the area using drones. In Jungleshwar, cops are ensuring people stay under lockdown.
