Shutdowns continue in major cities of the world as governments try to contain the Covid-19 contagion. On Saurday, during his video call with chief ministers of different states, PM Narendra Modi said the next 3-4 weeks are critical to determine impact of steps taken to curb the coronavirus spread.
Whereas CMs sought financial package and extension in lockdown, says Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy after meeting with PM, according to PTI.
After the video call, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that the lockdown in the state will continue till April 30 to prevent Covid-19 spread. Delhi has become the third state after Punjab and Odisha to extend the lockdown.

Cries of extending lockdown have started echoing from opposition quarters as well. BSP Supremo Mayawati said her party will welcome extension of lockdown in a series of tweets.

A coronavirus patient from Assam has committed suicide in Maharashtra's Akola by slitting his throat.
