US continues to be the worst-affected country with more than 68,000 lives lost. China, where the pandemic had initiated late in December, has reported no deaths from the Covid-19 since the last two days.

India has seen cases cross the 46,000 mark. Currently, India’s confirmed cases tally has touched 46,711, registering a spike of more than 3,900 cases. Nationwide death toll has reached 1,583. Maharashtra remains the most-affected state with above 15,525 cases and 841 deaths.

Taiwan says China cannot represent the nation in WHO
Taiwan's government has made it clear to the WHO that only Taiwan's democratically-elected government can represent Taiwanese people at the world stage. "Only the democratically-elected Taiwanese government can represent Taiwan's 23 million people in the international community," Taiwan Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Joanne Ou told reporters.

Australia and New Zealand released a joint statement on Tuesday saying that plans to begin travel between both countries will begin working on restarting travel between both nations.

Indigenous tribes in Brazil demand emergency fund
More than 850,000 people who belong to remote tribes in Amazon basin have written to WHO demanding emergency fund to help protect their communities from Covid-19. "It is a real emergency," Joenia Wapichana, the leader WHO appealed to WHO and first indigenous woman elected to Brazil's Congress, told Reuters.

India's Covid-19 cases recorded a huge jump as the nation saw 3,900 fresh Covid-19 cases being reported in a single day. 195 new reports of Covid-19 fatalities were also reported.

New York governor Andrew Cuomo said construction, manufacture and retail outlets will be the first to reopen in New York. He said reopening New York will be harder than closing it down.
