The Maharashtra Police said that in the last 24 hours, 4 of its personnel tested postive for Coronavirus while one died. A total of 2,561 personnel have tested positive so far, reports ANI.

130 more people have tested positive for Coronavirus in Odisha, taking the total number of cases in the state to 2,608. The total number of active cases atnd at 1, 117, the state's health department said, reports ANI.

The total coronavirus cases in the state of Jharkhand have reached 843, which include 447 active cases. So far 390 people have recovered and the death toll stands at 6, the state's health department said, reports ANI.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 43,86,376 samples have been tested till now for Covid-19 out of which 1,43,661 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours, reports ANI.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India recorded 9,851 cases and 273 deaths in the last 24 hours due to the novel coronavirus. The total cases are at 2,26,770 and the death toll stands at 6,348.

South Korea reported 39 new cases of the coronavirus as infections continued to spike after rigid social distancing rules were relaxed. The additional figures released by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention took the country’s total to 11,668 with 273 deaths, reports AP.

India is seeing rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases. In the last few days, since the government announced relaxation in the nationwide lockdown, the number of cases has been rising at record pace. On Thursday, India saw 9,304 new cases of Covid-19, the highest single-day spike so far. The total number of cases in the country is now 2,16,919. If the same rate continues, it will take India two days to cross the tally of Italy, the sixth worst-affected country by Covid-19.

Brazil surpassed Italy in the number of deaths caused due to the novel coronavirus, becoming the country with the third highest death toll globally. As per worldometer, the total number of deaths in Brazil now stand at 34,039.

285 more people tested positive for Coronavirus, taking the total number of cases in the state to 2,115. There are 1,649 active cases in the state while 459 people have been discharged so far. The death toll stands at four, reports ANI.

As many as 10 railway coaches have been converted into isolation ward for Covid-19 patients, at Shakur Basti railway station with each ward having a total of 160 beds. Railways officials said people who are asymptomatic will be kept in the isolation ward. "Positive patients who are asymptomatic, or have mild or very mild symptoms will be kept here," said Railway Medical Officer Dr J Bhatia, reports ANI.
