Several states in US have reported a record single-day rise in the number of Covid-19 cases. California and Texas released huge numbers of new cases with both states reporting 10,000-plus cases. Elderly patient with Covid-19 symptoms jumps to death in Rajasthan
An elderly man admitted to a hospital here with symptoms of coronavirus allegedly committed suicide by jumping from second floor of the medical institute on Wednesday, police said. He was admitted to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) in Pratap Nagar, they said.
His Covid-19 test report came negative, minutes before he took the extreme step, police said, adding he was not aware of the test result.
Andhra records 1,062 Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours
12 people have died due to Covid-19 and 1,062 people were infected on a single day in Andhra Pradesh. The state has 22,259 cases.

A minister in Jharkhand's cabinet has tested positive for Covid-19. The minister is also said to have met CM Hemant Soren as well.

Union minister Prahlad Patel said that reopening of historic sites will be done after consulting with state governments. He said that work is the tourism industry needs to resume soon.
