Highlights: Record 1,282 Covid-19 cases take Gujarat tally to 93,883

South Korea reported more than 300 infections of the new coronavirus on Saturday, the 16th day of three-digit rises, fanning concerns about a worsening shortage of sickbeds amid a resurgence of the virus, reports Reuters.

As many as 595 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Rajasthan, taking the total number of cases in the state to 77,965. The total cases include 14,697 active cases, over 62,000 recoveries and 1,025 deaths, reports ANI.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Saturday said a total of 4,04,06,609 samples have been tested for Covid-19 so far. 9,28,761 samples were tested for the disease on Friday, it added.

Wuhan, Ground Zero for the COVID-19 pandemic and the Chinese city hardest hit by the coronavirus, will reopen all its schools and kindergartens on Tuesday, local authorities said, reports Reuters.
