Telangana's ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has fielded candidates in all wards in the urban body elections. Main opposition Congress and BJP are also contesting the polls in majority of the wards. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has fielded candidates in 276 wards.

The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) swept the municipal elections, capturing power in over 100 out of 120 municipalities and seven out of nine municipal corporations. Counting of votes for 120 municipalities and nine municipal corporations in Telangana began at 8am on Saturday morning. Voting for these local body elections was held on January 22. The overall voting percentage was 70.26.
There were sporadic incidents of clashes in parts of Telangana during the elections.
Elections are not being held in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and 10 other urban local bodies as their tenure is not yet over.
The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has fielded candidates in all municipal wards. It faces rebel problem in some places. Main opposition Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are also contesting the polls in majority of the wards. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has fielded candidates in 276 wards.

Congress, BJP lagging far behind TRS
Telangana Rashtriya Samithi is leading in 44 municipalities, with Congress and BJP lagging far behind. It has won Banswada, Kothapalli, Bheemgal, Sattupalli, Bollarum and the Andole municipalities.
TRS continues its winning streak
The TRS continues its winning streak in the urban body polls in Telangana. It has won two more municipalities -- Parkal and Chennur.
All results expected by evening
According to State Election Commission officials, counting was taken up at 134 centres, reports IANS. As many as 10,000 officials are engaged in the process. All results are expected to be announced by evening.
Ruling TRS captures Maripeda, Wardhannapet municipalities
Ruling Telangana Rashtriya Samithi is leading in 29 municipalities. It has won the Jawaharnagar Municipal Corporation.
The party has also captured two municipalities -- Maripeda and Wardhannapet in Warangal district.
Congress ahead in Adibhatla municipality
Congress gains lead in Adibhatla municipality in Ranga Reddy district.
