The nationwide case count in India has now reached 99,79,447. The number of active cases stands at 3,13, 831, while 95,20,827 patients have been cured or discharged from hospitals. The country also recorded 338 fresh fatalities due to the disease which pushed the nationwide death toll to 1,44,789.

The world Covid-19 caseload is nearing 75 million cases, as per the latest updates by Johns Hopkins University. The US continues to be the worst-affected country by the pandemic with the tally surging past 17 million. The caseload currently stands at 17,206,647 and 310,699 patients succumbing to Covid-19 across the country. US has so far cleared two vaccine candidates for emergency use, hoping to reign in the pandemic.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a Covid-19 vaccine jab on Saturday. Netanyahu and and health minister Yuli Edelstein were injected with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine live on TV, reports AFP.
Myanmar adds 989 new Covid-19 cases, 26 deaths
Myanmar's Covid-19 tally climbed to 115,187 after 989 new cases and 26 deaths were logged in the last 24 hours, as per a health ministry release. As many as 94,118 people have been discharged from hospitals, it added, reports ANI.
Indonesia reports 7,751 new Covid-19 cases, 145 deaths
The Covid19 cases in Indonesia rose by 7,751 in a day to 657,948 with the death toll rising by 145 to 19,659, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.
US reports 260,663 new cases
The US reported 260,663 new cases on Friday, just short of the record set on Monday. Another 2,889 people died, a daily dip after three consecutive days of fatalities over 3,000.

Russia's Covid-19 deaths surpass 50,000
The number of Covid-19 deaths in Russia surpassed 50,000 on Saturday as the country continues to fight stubbornly high numbers of new infections daily.
Russia's official coronavirus task force said that 585 people had died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the country's official death toll to 50,347. The country also recorded 28,209 new infections, bringing the national tally to 2,819,429.
