Highlights: Fresh set of Covid-19 restrictions imposed in UK

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a Covid-19 vaccine jab on Saturday. Netanyahu and and health minister Yuli Edelstein were injected with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine live on TV, reports AFP.

Myanmar's Covid-19 tally climbed to 115,187 after 989 new cases and 26 deaths were logged in the last 24 hours, as per a health ministry release. As many as 94,118 people have been discharged from hospitals, it added, reports ANI.

The Covid19 cases in Indonesia rose by 7,751 in a day to 657,948 with the death toll rising by 145 to 19,659, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.

The US reported 260,663 new cases on Friday, just short of the record set on Monday. Another 2,889 people died, a daily dip after three consecutive days of fatalities over 3,000.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in Russia surpassed 50,000 on Saturday as the country continues to fight stubbornly high numbers of new infections daily.

Russia's official coronavirus task force said that 585 people had died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the country's official death toll to 50,347. The country also recorded 28,209 new infections, bringing the national tally to 2,819,429.

Gujarat reported 1,026 new coronavirus infections taking the state's tally to 2,34,289. The death toll after seven new fatalities stood at 4,227.

Karnataka reported 1,152 new coronavirus infections, taking the state's tally to 9,08,275. The death toll after 15 new fatalities rose to 12,004.

Haryana reported 590 new coronavirus infections taking the state's tally to 2,57,067. The death toll after 13 new fatalities rose to 2,816.

The national capital reported 1,139 new cases, taking its total caseload to 6,15,914. The death toll after 32 new fatalities rose to 10,251.

Puducherry reported 45 new coronavirus infections, taking the UT's tally to 37,715 including 339 active cases and 36,752 recoveries. 21 were discharged and the death toll stands at 624 after a single new fatality.

Maharashtra reported 3,940 new coronavirus infections, taking the state's tally to 18,92,707 including 61,095 active cases. Death toll after 74 new fatalities rose to 48,648.
