Highlights: Delhi logs nearly 7,000 Covid cases for second straight day

Karnataka's Covid caseload increased to 835773 after the state reported 3377 fresh infections. Death toll stands at 11281 after 34 new fatalities. The active case count in the state is 35693.

Tamil Nadu has reported 2487 new coronavirus infections taking the number of confirmed cases in the state to 7.34 lakh, with the death toll at 11244 after 30 new fatalities. Total number of active cases currently in the state is 19154.

Punjab reported 527 new coronavirus infections taking the states total caseload to 135313 with the death toll at 4259 after 14 new fatalities. 126583 people have been discharged and the number of active cases currently stands at 4471.

West Bengal recorded its highest single day recoveries from Covid-19 boosting the number of recoveries in the state to 346262 according to the Health Department. The death toll stands at 7068 after 55 new fatalities.

The government of Sikkim has banned the use of firecrackers ahead of Diwali until further orders in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Haryana's Covid-19 caseload rose to 174082 after 1952 new infections. The death toll rose to 1836 after 19 new fatalities. The number of active cases currently stands at 14110 with 158136 discharges.

Delhi reported 6842 new coronavirus infections to take the state's caseload to 4.09 lakh. Death toll is currently at 6703 with 51 new fatalities.

Maharashtra has reported 5505 new infections taking the state's caseload to 1698198. The total number of recoveries stand at 1540005 after 8728 discharges. Death toll rose to 44548 after 125 new fatalities. The number of active coronavirus cases is currently at 112912.

BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was discharged from a state-run hospital in Mumbai after undergoing Covid-19 treatment. The former Maharashtra chief minister will remain in home isolation.

The Swiss government has deployed 2500 military personnel to help out the country's medical facilities after a spike in coronavirus infections.

Rajasthan reported 1770 new coronavirus infections taking the state's caseload to 2.03 lakhs with 1945 deaths after nine new fatalities. The number of active cases in the state is currently at 16323

Gujarat reported 975 new coronavirus infections taking the state's caseload to 176608. Six new fatalities takes death toll to 3740.

England's NHS is looking to rollout a vaccine for Covid-19 if any of the candidates are ready by that time as per the state-run health service.

The Swiss health authorities reported an increase of 10073 new infections in the country with 73 new fatalities. Total confirmed cases rose to 192376 with 2275 deaths.

Poland's has faced a spike in new infections with over 20000 cases daily. The Prime Minister's chief of staff said that the country will announce new restrictions on Wednesday.
