Highlights: Delhi logs nearly 7,000 Covid cases for second straight day

The Civil Aviation Ministry has said that Indian Airlines can operate with 60% pre-Covid domestic passenger flights until February 24 next year due to the current coronavirus situation.

According to a Health Department official, Tripura's coronavirus tally increased to 31105 after 116 new infections. Death toll at 350 after three new fatalities. Number of active cases currently at 1325.

Indonesia's Covid-19 tally increased to 421731 after 3356 new cases. Th death toll rose to 14259 after 113 new fatalities. As of Wednesday, 352282 had recovered from the virus.

Andhra Pradesh's Covid-19 caseload rose to 833208 after the state reported 2477 fresh coronavirus cases. The current number of active cases is 21438 and the death toll is 6744.

The United States, India and France are the countries that have reported the highest number of coronavirus cases in the past week according to WHO. The three countries have been reporting the highest numbers since the past four weeks.

According to WHO, there has been an increase in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in younger population and a decrease of the same in people aged 65 and above since the start of the pandemic.

The WHO has said that 3.3 million new Covid-19 cases were reported in the past week with Europe accounting for half of them. This was a 22% increase in the number of new cases for the continent from the previous week.

The Delhi government has started conducting targeted Covid-19 tests at crowded areas like markets to strengthen its surveillance mechanism according to Health Minister Satyendar Jain.

The Maharashtra government will allow the opening of swimming pools, yoga institutes, drama theatres, cinema halls and multiplexes outside containment zones from November 5.

Uttar Pradesh's Covid-19 caseload increased to 489502 with 2204 new cases with the death toll at 7104 after 16 new fatalities. Active cases in the state is currently 22676.

The Maharashtra government has given permission to theatres, cinema halls and multiplexes outside containment zones to operate at 50% capacity from November 5.

With the addition of the new cases, Thane's overall coronavirus tally reached 213160 with the death toll rising to 5388. Recovery rate is at 93.36% and mortality rate is at 2.53%.
