The global coronavirus caseload currently stands at 76,760,893 and the death toll is 1,692,151 as per the latest updates by John Hopkins university. The US still has the highest number of confirmed Covid-19 infections in the world with 17,820,477 confirmed cases and 3,17,597 deaths. Countries, including the US and the UK, have started to vaccinate their citizens against the disease, although a new strain of the virus discovered in the UK might be cause for concern.

Kejriwal urges govt to ban flights from UK over new virus strain fears
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged the Centre to ban all flights from the UK after the emergence of a new strain of coronavirus which spreads far more quickly than usual.
Puducherry reports 14 new cases, one death
Puducherry reported 14 new coronavirus infections, taking the union territory's active case tally to 332. The death toll rose to 627 after one new fatality. 26 were discharged.
Arunachal Pradesh reports one new case, 17 recoveries
Arunachal Pradesh reported one fresh coronavirus infection, taking the state's tally to 16,630. 17 new recoveries were also recorded. The state has an active caseload of 225 while the death toll stands at 55.
Telangana reports 316 new cases, two deaths
Telangana reported 316 new coronavirus infections, taking the state's tally to 2,81,730. The death toll rose to 1,515 after two new fatalities.

Thane records 403 new cases, seven deaths
Thane recorded 403 new coronavirus infections, taking the district's tally to 2,38,931. Seven new fatalities meant that the death toll grew to 5,878.

The Andaman and Nicobar islands recorded six new coronavirus cases, taking the union territory's caseload to 4,881.

Thailand records 382 new Covid-19 cases
Thailand reported 382 new coronavirus infections with the majority linked to an outbreak in a seafood center in a province near the capital. The new cases include 360 migrant workers in the southwestern province of Samut Sakhon, where Thailand's worst outbreak yet appeared at the weekend.
