China has issued a lengthy rebuttal of what it said were 24 "preposterous allegations" by some leading U.S. politicians over its handling of the new coronavirus outbreak, reports Reuters.

One of the members of the National Security Guard, the country's elite terrorism unit has tested positive for coronavirus. AK Singh, Director General of NSG said that the individual is a non-combatant support staff and his condition is stable with mild symptoms, reports ANI.

According to the real time tally by Johns Hopkins University, 776 coronavirus deaths were reported in the United States in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 79,552, reports AFP.

As per Brazil's Health Ministry data, the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has crossed 160,000 with the death toll being at 11,123. 6,760 cases, 496 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours, reports ANI.
