Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held a meeting via video conferencing with chief ministers and asked them to spell out how they want to deal with the lockdown regime after May 17 when the third spell of the lockdown expires.
The number of coronavirus cases in India has reached 67,152. So far, 2,206 have lost their lives due to the infection. Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh are among the worst affected states that together account for almost half the number of cases and around 72% deaths in the country.

On the global spectrum, nations like France and Spain are gradually easing lockdown restrictions despite the risk of a second wave of the pandemic.

Since entire Delhi is under the red zone, CM Arvind Kejriwal urges the PM that district-wise red zone should be relaxed and only the containment zone should be included under the Red Zone, and rest should be made green zone.

Karnataka CM says that all international travel should be on hold till the end of May. All inter-state and international travellers should be put under compulsory institutional quarantine.

UP Chief Minister Yodi Adityanath has also recommended extending the lockdown. He said, "lockdown should be extended for certain more period considering the interest of all other states."
Assam wants lockdown to continue for 2 more weeks
Assam CM: Timely lockdown has greatly helped the state in combating the disease. Lockdown should continue for two more weeks, relaxation will mean that people will start taking things lightly. Hence, we have to be careful in opening of interstate movement. Therefore, inter-state movement should be kept limited. There should be gap of at least one week for a single train movement to Assam.
Urge PM to ensure devolution grant be released in subsequent months.

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan: Metro rail should be allowed in cities, excluding red zones. Likewise, concession should be made possible for industries and trade activities. NRIs are coming back in special flights, we suggest that anti-body tests are conducted on them prior to boarding of special flight.
Domestic flights should be allowed, subject to adherence of protocols. People with covid symptoms should not be allowed to take flights.
We need to have an orderly movement at entry points in the States border. Norms for disinfecting of vehicles should be followed. Kerala has requested for sanction of special train from Delhi. Tickets should be issued based on registration details available with the States.
Travel restriction is a must, regulation and strict regulation should be followed in all travel mode. PM should intervene in this matter.
Train movements may be regulated in consultation with states: Odisha CM
Odisha CM at PM's meetinig: Timely guidelines and flexibility of approach is a must to combat the situation. All CMs working as a team to fight corona in the true spirit of federalism. The country is facing a serious challenge but we have to work as a team to restart the economic activities.
Railway movement may be regulated in consultations with States as it being done for stranded people; suggest union govt create national standard SOPs for unified approach to be adopted by all states for putting economic activities on track.
Local administration should be allowed for decision making on zoning.
Union Government may modify existing schemes to be executed at the panchayat levels as the fight for Covid-19 will be long.
Tripura CM seeks its share of GST collection from Centre
At video conference with PM Modi, Tripura CM said: North East will work together and will fast-track its economic activities. He urged the PM that NE corridor should be connected by road from Bangladesh, so that trade and business activity can be accelerated.
He also sought for GST collection from Centre.
Odisha's Covid-19 tally goes up to 394
Three more Covid-19 cases reported in Odisha today. Total number of cases in the state is now at 394, including 306 active cases, 85 cured, & 3 deaths, says State Health & Family Welfare Department: ANI
Don't allow trains in TN up to May 31: CM Palaniswami
Tamil Nadu CM E Palaniswami said at the meeting: As positive cases in Chennai are showing an increasing trend, don't permit train service up to May 31 in Tamil Nadu. I request you not to begin regular Air services till May 31.
Exams and entrance tests should be allowed: Haryana CM
Haryana CM: Examinations and entrance test for professional courses should start. Centre should allow States to devise mechanism for relaxation as per the defined zones - red, orange and green.
9 lakh migrants have applied to leave the state; now that the industries are allowed, we should request the migrants to not leave.
State Public transport services of buses, taxis with maintenance of social distancing should be allowed.

Maha CM: GST on medical equipment particularly PPEs, Ventilators, etc should be waived. In Green Zones, we have already allowed economic activities. Inter-district movement should happen with strict adherence to screening. Efforts to curb rumours spread through social media should be monitored.
Urges centre for deployment of central police in the State, as the State police have been tirelessly working without any rest. We have to ensure that police are given the required time for rest.

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray: We seek loan for farmers to tide over the situation. Migrant workers are leaving our State, it is important that they do not carry this virus back to their homes.
We should not force migrants to leave the State, if possible, they should stay back and we should help them to support themselves. Lockdown should not be lifted, we should regulate it and allow relaxation.
Trains should be allowed for essential services, he added.
