UK experiencing start of Covid-19 pandemic's second wave: Johnson
India continued to register a higher number of Covid-19 infection cases as it logged 96,424 new cases on Friday. The total number of cases in the country is above 5.21 million now, according to the number published on the union health ministry's website on Friday.
In the United States, the infection increased by 0.7% as compared with the same time Thursday to 6.7 million, Bloomberg reported citing data collected by Johns Hopkins University. The increase compares with an average daily increase of 0.6% over the past week. Deaths reached 198,114.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump said his administration expects to have enough vaccines for every American by April.

European countries from Denmark to Greece announced new restrictions on Friday to curb surging coronavirus infections in some of their largest cities, while Britain was reported to be considering a new national lockdown.

Global deaths from the coronavirus exceeded 950,000, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
21 new cases in Victoria state, lowest in three months
Once a hotspot state of Australia, Victoria state reported its lowest daily increase of infections in three months, putting it on course to relax a hard lockdown in the capital city by the end of the month.
The state recorded 21 new cases of the virus last 24 hours.
