India’s active coronavirus cases dropped below the seven-lakh mark for the third day in a row on Sunday, according to the Union ministry of health and family welfare. The total caseload has surpassed 7.8 million while the toll from the disease stands at 118,534.

As many as 7,078,123 people have recovered from the infection either home isolation or have been discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile, several states have promised to provide Covid-19 vaccine to the people for free.

18 new cases in Andaman and Nicobar

Andaman and Nicobar reported 18 new Covid-19 cases and eight recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases 4,225 including 199 active cases, 58 deaths and 3,968 recoveries, according to news agency ANI.

Covid-19 recoveries in India surpass 7 million

In a significant achievement, India's total recoveries from the coronavirus disease have crossed the landmark milestone of seven million, Union ministry of health and family welfare said on Sunday.

The top four states account for more than half of the total recovered cases. About 44% active caseload of the country is contributed by them, it added.
