Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh’s Indore and the capital Delhi are India’s hotspots of the Covid-19 as the nation becomes the most-affected in the Asian continent. India has surpassed the death toll China had recorded. India currently has recorded 165,799 cases of the coronavirus and the death toll is 4,706.

Places of large gatherings should remain closed: Delhi health minister
"Delhi government believes that places where large gatherings take place, like cinema halls, should remain closed. Schools and colleges should also remain closed," Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said on Friday. His remarks came after consultations with Union Home Minister Amit Shah over coronavirus lockdown a day earlier.
Capital's Covid-19 cases reach 17,386
17,386 cases have been recorded in the Capital. 398 people have died so far. Delhi health minister S Jain said 7846 people have recovered.

Kerala health minister says no community transmission of Covid-19 in state

Railways asks elderly and people with comorbidities to travel only when necessary
Piyush Goyal, Union Minister, told people aged above 60 and people with comorbidities to refrain from travelling and to travel only when necessary.

Germany reports 741 fresh Covid-19 cases
Germany recorded 741 new cases of Covid-19, the total number of infections in the country has reached 180,458. 8,450 people have died so far, according to data accessed by Reuters from the Robert Koch Institute.
South Korea reports 58 new cases
KCDC has reported 58 new cases of Covid-19. 82 infections on Thursday were reported from warehouses operated by e-commerce chains.
India registers new single-day spike with 7,467 fresh cases
India has registered 7,467 new cases as it registered a new record in terms of most cases recorded in a single-day. The nation has registered 175 deaths due to Covid-19. Close to 72,000 people have recovered among the 165,799 people infected.
Brazil reports record number of new cases
Brazil, one of the newest hotspots of Covid-19 infections in the world and worst-hit nation in South America reported 26,417 cases in the last 24 hours.
France reports 3,325 new coronavirus cases
As France reopens, fresh Covid-19 cases surged in the European nation but the government has attributed this rise of 3,325 cases to better testing and new data collecting methods.

Amarnath Yatra to be held for short duration
The Baltal route will be used to hold the Amarnath Yatra for a short duration of 15 to 20 days. In a meeting attended by, Jammu and Kashmir L-G Murmu, DGP Dilbagh Singh and other it was decided that the Baltal route will be cleared and DC Ganderbal have been issued instructions, according to sources.
Pune DCP says crimes against women on the rise
Pune DCP (Crime) Bacchan Singh said though the number of crimes went down 6 times in April, few crimes related to property disputes and crimes against women are rising marginally.

US daily death toll continues to cross 1,000 mark
