As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India recorded 286,579 cases and 8,102 deaths due to the novel Coronavirus infection. Almost 10,000 cases and 357 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.
The recovery rates across several countries are on the rise as Covid-19’s infectivity rate is far higher than its mortality rate.

Recovery rates are still low across the Americas as Mexico and the US still continue to report a high number of cases. Brazil continues to remain a hotspot.

Andhra Pradesh reported 135 new Coronavirus cases, taking the state's tally to 4,261. 80 people have died 2,540 have been discharged so far, the state's health department said, reports ANI.

A Chief Medical Officer of CRPF tests positive for Covid-19 in Delhi
A Chief Medical Officer of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has tested positive for Covid-19 in Delhi. The officer has been shifted to a hospital in Okhla. Total number of cases in the CRPF have reached 544, out of which 353 have recovered and four have died, reports ANI.

An eminent Indian-American professor warned that total number of deaths due to Covid-19 can reach 200,000 by September. United States still continues to remain the worst-hit nation.
No new Covid-19 case, death reported in Thailand
Thailand reported no new cases or deaths due to Covid-19, maintaining the total of 3,125 confirmed cases and 58 fatalities. It was the first time in nearly three weeks that no cases were reported and the 17th day without a local transmission, reports Reuters.
