The countries across the world continued to reel under Covid-19 crisis as the World Health Organization reported a one-day high in global infections over the weekend, while Mexico, Indonesia and Iran reported their deadliest day yet.
In the United States, the number of infections has risen to 2,876,143 while the 129,891 others have succumbed to the disease.

Meanwhile, in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the country is in a state of emergency in the wake of rising Covid-19 cases. Spain ordered a lockdown of a second region amid fears of Covid-19 spread.
While, India surpassed Russia in the infections tally and became the country with most infections after US and Brazil.
The total number of Covid-19 cases now stands at 697,413 after it recorded 24,248 fresh cases of infection on Monday.
There are 14 states in the country which have reported more than 10,000 Covid-19 cases and Maharashtra remained the worst-hit on Sunday.

Mexico reports 4,683 Covid-19 cases
Mexican health authorities reported 4,683 confirmed new infections of the novel coronavirus, pushing its tally to a total of 256,848, and 273 more deaths to a total of 30,639.

South Africa reported a record 173 deaths, bringing the total to 3,199. The number came after four consecutive days of record rises in cases. Cumulative infections rose to 196,750 with 8,773 new cases in the latest daily report. (ANI)
24,248 Covid-19 cases within 24 hours in India
As many as 24,248 cases of Covid-19 were recorded in India in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 697,413. While 425 others succumbed to the viral disease.

Migrant workers return to work in Delhi as Unlock 2 takes effect
With Unlock-2 enforced across the country since July 1, a number of migrant workers are returning to work in the national capital.
"I am from Farrukhabad (Uttar Pradesh). I have been called by my employer, so I have come back," one worker told ANI.
"People are going back and returning in large numbers. There is not even a slight increase in bus fares," an official at the Kaushambi bus stand in Delhi-NCR said. (ANI)
Philippines reports spike in coronavirus cases
The Philippines has reported its biggest spike in coronavirus infections, department of health announced on Monday.
A total of 2,434 cases have come to the light in recent days, most of them in metropolitan Manila, raising the number of confirmed cases nationwide to more than 44,250, including 1,297 deaths.
The infections and deaths are among the highest in Southeast Asia.

Australia: Internal border between Victoria state and NSW to be closed for indefinite period
Amid the surging cases of Covid-19 in Australia's Victoria state, authorities on Monday announced a border closure between the state and the neighbouring New South Wales. The order will come in effect from Tuesday for an indefinite period.
Victoria reported 127 new Covid-19 infections overnight, the biggest since the pandemic began. It also reported one death, taking the country's total tally to 105.
Brazil registers 26,051 new cases of Covid-19
Brazil registered 26,051 new cases of Covid-19, surpassing the 1.6 million mark on Sunday, the country's health ministry reported.
Brazil's total coronavirus death toll stood at 64,867, as it recorded 602 new deaths.
US House Speaker tests positive for coronavirus
House Speaker Philip Gunn says he has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Gunn, a Republican, said in a video posted Sunday to Facebook that he got tested because he had been in close proximity to another member of the House who tested positive.
