Covid-19 hospital overcharges patients; loses licence
The global cumulative coronavirus tally increased by a record high of 284,196 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total count to over 15.2 million, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) daily breifings.
Almost half of all cases were concentrated in three countries, the United States, Brazil and India.

in a period of one month since June 24, India added 63% of its total cases (1.28 million on Thursday night). It has added 51% of its total deaths (30,630) in the same time duration.
Meanwhile, the threat of second wave loomed over China as it reported 34 cases in the mainland for July 24, up from 21 cases a day earlier, the health commission said on Saturday.

The tallies for people hospitalized in New York with the coronavirus are continuing to drop to the lowest levels since the pandemic began, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Saturday.
There were at least 646 people hospitalized in the state on Friday, a new low since March 18 and down slightly from the previous day, the Democratic governor said in a statement. The number of reported deaths in the state rose by one, to 10.

The number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat rose to 54,712 with 1,081 new patients being detected on Saturday, highest in a single day, the state health department said.
The death toll in the state rose to 2,305 with 22 more Covid-19 patients succumbing, it said.
