US records over 1,000 Covid-19 deaths for fourth straight day
The global cumulative coronavirus tally increased by a record high of 284,196 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total count to over 15.2 million, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) daily breifings.
Almost half of all cases were concentrated in three countries, the United States, Brazil and India.

in a period of one month since June 24, India added 63% of its total cases (1.28 million on Thursday night). It has added 51% of its total deaths (30,630) in the same time duration.
Meanwhile, the threat of second wave loomed over China as it reported 34 cases in the mainland for July 24, up from 21 cases a day earlier, the health commission said on Saturday.

India's Covid-19 tally tops 13.36 lakh, death toll mounts to 31,358
India's Covid-19 tally soared to 1,336,861 on Saturday after recording more than 48,900 cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the data published on union health ministry's wesbite, total 48,916 new cases of infection were recorded. While the death toll reaches 31,358 after 757 new fatalities.
781 new Covid cases take Germany's tally to 204,964
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 781 to 204,964, data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases showed on Saturday.
The reported death toll rose by 7 to 9,118, the tally showed.

Mexico reports 7,573 new cases of Covid-19, 737 deaths
Mexico's Health Ministry on Friday reported 7,573 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection and 737 additional fatalities, bringing the total in the country to 378,285 cases and 42,645 total deaths.
The government has said the real number of infected people is likely significantly higher than the confirmed cases.
55,891 new Covid cases in Brazil
The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Brazil has increased by 55,891 to 2,343,366 within the past 24 hours, the country's health ministry said on late Friday.
The death toll has risen by 1,156 to 85,238 within the same period of time.
South Korea reports 113 new coronavirus cases, most since March
South Korea reported 113 cases of the new coronavirus on Saturday, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said, the largest one day increase since March, bring the country's total to 14,092.
Of the new cases, 86 were imported and 27 were domestic infections.
South Korean health authorities on Friday said novel coronavirus infections among people arriving from abroad could drive the number of new cases on Friday to more than 100, reports Reuters
US records over 1,000 Covid-19 deaths for fourth straight day
US deaths rose by at least 1,019 to a total of 145,352 on Friday compared with a rise of 1,140 on Thursday, 1,135 on Wednesday and 1,141 on Tuesday. Total cases across the United States rose by at least 68,800 on Friday to over 4 million total.
