As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to grapple countries across the world, US President Donald Trump warned that the “nasty horrible’” virus will get worse in the US before it gets better.
According to the data published by John Hopkins, 14,845,978 people have been confirmed of Covid-19 globally. While the 615,364 people have succumbed to the virus with the US recording the maximum number of deaths.
On Tuesday, the country reported more than 1,000 new fatalities, in a first time since June 10. More than 140,000 Americans have lost their lives in just five months in the US due to Covid-19.

Meanwhile in India, at least half of the population was confined to their homes under various types of lockdowns — full, partial or weekend — according to orders issued by different state governments over the past few days.

1, 078 new Covid-19 cases in Odisha
As many as 1, 078 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Odisha in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 19,835, informed state health department.
The total number of cases include 6,387 active cases and 13,309 recovered, it also said.
9 new Covid-19 cases in China's Xinjiang province
China's Xinjiang province reported nine new domestically transmitted cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, ANI reported while quoting local media report.
All new confirmed cases were in the capital Urumqi.
According to the report, by Tuesday, Xinjiang had reported 64 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 69 asymptomatic cases, and 3,162 people were still under medical observation.
Undiagnosed virus infections could be 27 times higher in South Korea's Daegu city
A small South Korean survey of people with no history of Covid-19, but living in a city with the most cases, showed that one in nine had antibodies to the novel coronavirus, indicating the virus may have spread more widely than thought.
The study said based on the survey, roughly 185,290 people could have contracted the virus in Daegu city, which is the country's fourth-largest city with a population of 2.5 million.
"It was estimated that the number of undiagnosed missing cases may be 27-fold higher than the number of confirmed cases based on PCR testing in Daegu," the study said.
37,724 fresh Covid-19 cases in India in last 24 hours
India registered 37,724 Covid-19 cases over the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 1,192,915. While 648 fresh fatalities were reported which pushed the death toll to 28,732 on Wednesday.
In record high, Australia confirms 501 new Covid-19 infections
Australia reported a record 501 new coronavirus infections Wednesday, nearly four months after the pandemic supposedly peaked in the country.
Most of the cases were reported in Victoria state, where authorities have struggled to bring an outbreak in Melbourne under control despite Australia's second-biggest city being locked down for nearly two weeks.

One of Brazil's leading indigenous chiefs, Aritana Yawalapiti, is battling a severe case of the new coronavirus, AFP reported quoting his son.
Chief Aritana, who is about 70 years old, tested positive for the virus after having trouble breathing in his village in the Xingu indigenous reserve.
