As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to grapple countries across the world, US President Donald Trump warned that the “nasty horrible’” virus will get worse in the US before it gets better.
According to the data published by John Hopkins, 14,845,978 people have been confirmed of Covid-19 globally. While the 615,364 people have succumbed to the virus with the US recording the maximum number of deaths.
On Tuesday, the country reported more than 1,000 new fatalities, in a first time since June 10. More than 140,000 Americans have lost their lives in just five months in the US due to Covid-19.

Meanwhile in India, at least half of the population was confined to their homes under various types of lockdowns — full, partial or weekend — according to orders issued by different state governments over the past few days.

Pakistan records 1,332 new coronavirus cases
Pakistan has recorded 1,332 new coronavirus cases, taking the nation-wide tally of infections to 267,428, the health ministry said on Wednesday, a day after the country registered its lowest daily Covid-19 count in more than two and a half months.
The Ministry of National Health Services said that 38 patients also died in the last 24 hours, pushing the number of Covid-19 deaths in the country to 5,677.
It said a total of 210,468 people had recovered from the disease, making it a significant count, while another 1,436 patients were in critical condition, reoorts PTI.
Face masks mandtory in public transport, indoor areas in Hong Kong
Hong Kong has made it mandatory to wear masks on public transport, in indoor areas and passenger terminals.
The measures will last until August 5 as the city tries to break the transmission of local infections.
Hong Kong has recorded 2,019 infections with 14 deaths. On Tuesday, it reported 58 cases, 25 of them from an unknown source, reports AP.
