India’s Covid-19 tally on Thursday crossed 9.73 million after 31,521 new cases were logged in the last 24 hours. The total cases now include 372,293 active cases, over 9.25 million recoveries and 141,772 deaths, according to the Union health ministry’s dashboard.
Maharashtra, Delhi and Kerala continue to be worst affected from the pandemic. Delhi’s Covid tally is nearing the 600,000-mark with 20,546 active cases and 569,216 recoveries. Health minister Satyendar Jain said the national capital recorded 50 deaths on Wednesday, the lowest since November 1 and added it was emerging victorious in the fight against the pandemic. In a series of tweets, he also said that for the first time in Delhi, 'more than 2,500 ICU beds' were vacant for infected patients.

Meanwhile, documents related to the Pfizer/BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine were hacked during a cyber attack at the EU regulator, the organisation said. Documents relating to the vaccine candidate had been accessed, but that no systems have been breached in connection with this incident, it added.
