Global cases top 26 million
India on Sunday reported a record rise of more than 90,000 cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), also the highest single day-spike in the world, pushing the tally over 4.11 million, according to the union health ministry's dashboard. Maximum number of cases have been coming from Maharashtra followed by Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. As many as 73,642 patients have recovered and been discharged from either home isolation or hospitals in the last 24 hours. The total numbers of recoveries have reached nearly 32 lakh.

Covid-19 cases across the world have topped 26 million with the United States reporting the highest number of cases at 6,243,849 followed by Brazil (4,092,832), according to Johns Hopkins University’s tally. The global toll from the infection has gone up to 877,438.

As many as 604 people tested positive and eight died due to Covid-19 in Tripura, taking the total number of cases and deaths to 15,130 and 144 respectively. Out of the total cases, 6,220 are active cases while 8,745 have recovered so far, reports PTI.
