Rajya Sabha business advisory committee called at 6 PM

Opposition leaders staged a walk-out from the Rajya Sabha and held a protest before the Gandhi statue in Parliament premises on Tuesday. Parliamentarians from Congress, AAP, Shiv Sena, TMC, CPI(M) boycotted the house demanding revocation of suspension of the eight MPs. Meanwhile, the dharna which was being staged by the suspended Rajya Sabha MPs ended after the Opposition members boycotted the house, reports ANI.

Amid the ongoing tussle, Rajya Sabha MP and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda said that government should come to an understanding. Both the Opposition and the Government should sit together to help run the House. Gowda also said that Democracy should work with cooperation, reports ANI.

Rajya Sabha chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said that he was not happy about members being suspended from the upper house adding that the house has nothing against any member, reports ANI.

Opposition leaders stage walked-out from Rajya Sabha on Tuesday and are protesting before the Gandhi statue inside Parliament premises, demanded the revocation of suspended MPs. Earlier Congress RS MP Ghulam Nabi Azad said that opposition will boycott the session if the demands of revocation of suspendes MPs and the introduction of a bill by the government to bring another bill under which no private player can purchase below MSP are not met, reports ANI.

The eight opposition Rajya Sabha members who were suspended for continuing with their protests against farm bills stayed overnight on Parliament lawns in a sit-in protest have said that they will withdraw protest depending upon the proceedings inside the House on Tuesday, reports ANI.

Leader of opposition and Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ghulam Nabi Azad said that suspension of eight MPs who protested against the farm bills should be restored. Azad added that No one is happy with the incidents that have taken place in this House. The public want that their leaders should be heard. No one can put across their views in just 2-3 mins. There will be 90% de-escalation if MPs not constrained by time to speak, reports ANI.

Deputy Chairman Harivansh arrived this with morning tea for the eight opposition members who had spent the night on the lawns of Parliament as part of their indefinite protest after being suspended yesterday over unruly scenes against farm bills inside the Upper House. However, the suspended MPs refused to take tea from Harivansh, reports ANI.

After Rajya Sabha deputy chairman served tea to the protesting MPs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "To personally serve tea to those who attacked & insulted him a few days ago as well as those sitting on Dharna shows that Harivansh Ji has been blessed with a humble mind & a big heart. It shows his greatness. I join people of India in congratulating Harivansh Ji."

Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi launched a fresh attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress over the ruckus created in Rajya Sabha on Sunday over the agriculture reform Bills. Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar, the Bihar Deputy CM termed the treatment meted out to Deputy Chairman Harivansh by the Opposition members, "an insult of every Bihari", reports ANI.

Karnataka opposition leader Siddaramaiah on Monday attacked the Centre over the passage of three farm bills in the Parliament and called it "the evilest act to destabilise the foundations of democracy", reports ANI.

Union labour minister Santosh Gangwar will table three labour reforms bills namely- The Occupational Safety, Health And Working Conditions Code, 2020, The Industrial Relations Code, 2020 and the Code on Social Security 2020.
