On third day of monsoon session, Rajya Sabha held discussion on Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda Bill 2020 and passed the bill by voice vote.
A heated discussion on Covid-19 was held in the upper house of Parliament during which various leaders raised points regarding migrant workers and the lockdown imposed by the government.

We can most objectively certify that the Jamnagar Institute of Ayurveda in Gujarat deserves the status of 'national importance' under the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda Bill 2020, says health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan in response to leaders questioning the decision.
"Right now there are 103 institutes of national importance, but none for ayurveda. There is no bias. The Jamnagar institute is the oldest set up by the government and only collaborating institution for WHO," said the health minister.
