India continues to grapple with ever-increasing numbers of Covid-19 cases, with its total count going past 2.66 lakh and death toll beyond 7,400 on Tuesday even as the country eased some more lockdown curbs with restaurants, hotels, malls and places of worships opening in many states after a gap of two and a half months on Monday.
The coronavirus pandemic is worsening globally even as the situation in Europe is improving, the World Health Organisation has warned. CISF official succumbs to Covid-19; 13th death in CAPFs
A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official succumbed to Covid-19, taking the total number of deaths in the paramilitary force to five, officials said on Tuesday, reports PTI.
This is the 13th death reported among the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
The deceased, head constable Chaudhari Narsingh Bhai, 55, was posted in the 1st reserve battalion of the force based in Madhya Pradeshs' Barwaha town of Khargone district, a senior official said.
"The official succumbed to coronavirus on Monday. He was admitted to a hospital for an anaemic condition and had undergone a major surgery," he said.

Central govt officials said no community transmission of Covid-19 in Delhi: Manish Sisodia
Delhi's deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Tuesday said that there is no community spread of Covid-19 in Delhi as of now, reports ANI.
His remark came after a meeting on the issue with Delhi L-G Anil Baijal in which Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain and others were present.

UAE capital Abu Dhabi extends virus lockdown another week
The capital of the United Arab Emirates has extended an emirate-wide lockdown for another week over the coronavirus pandemic, reports AP.
Government officials announced late Monday the extension of the lockdown, that has prevented people from leaving their area in Abu Dhabi.
The lockdown comes as the rest of the UAE is trying to reopen its non-oil economy after the pandemic devastated its tourism and airline industry.
There have been nearly 40,000 cases and 280 deaths from COVID-19 in the UAE, with 22,000 of those infected now recovered.
