Months into the pandemic, the Covid-19 continues to ravage countries across the world with the US, Brazil and India being the most affected.
On Sunday, the US crossed the 5-million case mark of Covid-19 infections, while Brazil crossed the 3-million mark, and also 100,000 deaths.
In India, Maharashtra which is among the worst affected states from Covid-19 pandemic crossed 500,000 cases.

1,000 rupees fine in Gujarat for not wearing masks
The fine for not wearing a mask has been increased to ₹1,000 from August 11 onwards, said Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Monday.
Former president Pranab Mukherjee tests positive for coronavirus
"On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today.
I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19," Mukherjee wrote in a tweet.
In record number, 54,859 people recover from Covid-19 in a single day in India
India on Monday reported the highest number of recoveries in a single-day with 54,859 people getting cured of Covid-19, a union health ministry said.
Total recoveries now exceed the active cases by more than nine lakhs, the ministry said.
India's Covid-19 recoveries have crossed the historic peak of 1.5 million, with a recovery rate of almost 70%, it also said.
245 new Covid-19 cases in Puducherry
As many as 245 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Puducherry on Monday. While two others succumbed to the disease, taking the toll to 89.
The total tally of infections now stands at 5,624 including 2,180 active cases and 3,355 recovered cases.
Telangana reports 1,256 new Covid-19 cases
Telangana on Monday reported new 1,256 new Covid-19 cases.The total tally now stands at 80,751. With 10 more deaths, the death toll mounted to 637.

Thirty-eight more people, including 20 security personnel, have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the northeastern state's caseload to 2,155 on Monday, a health official said.
Mizoram's Covid-19 tally reaches 620
The total number of Covid-19 positive cases reached 620 in Mizoram as of Monday, the Department of Information and Public Relations of Mizoram government informed.
Out of the total number of Covid-19 cases, 322 cases are active, and 298 have been cured/discharged. No deaths have been reported due to Covid-19 in the state, reports ANI.

India on Monday recorded over 1,000 new fatalities due to Covid-19. While 62,064 new cases of infections were detected which pushed the total tally to 2,215,074.

Australia's second-most populous state has recorded 322 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the state's health department said on Monday.
Victoria state said there were 19 fatalities from the virus in the last day.

US Health Secretary Alex Azar told Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen on Monday that it was a true honour to be in Taipei to convey a strong message of support from US President Donald Trump.
Azar, meeting Tsai in the presidential office, said his trip was to highlight Taiwan's success on health, particularly its efforts to combat the novel coronavirus pandemic, reports Reuters.
