Seven months after the coronavirus (Covid-19) disease was declared as pandemic by the World Health Organisation, the uncertainty and lack of information still remains. As the the deadly virus continues to surge across the world daily virus cases around the world topped a record 350,000, on Friday.

In Europe, leaders sounded alarms about the outbreak untamed as France climbed to a record, while the Spanish government declared a state of emergency for the Madrid region.

In UK, government warned that the outbreak is "getting out of control". As the government seeks to curb the accelerating spread, Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to make a statement to parliament on Monday about potential new lockdown restrictions.

In the United States, worst-hit country by the Covid-19, the number of infection reached 7,659,932. While US President Donald Trump announced his first his first in-person event, at the White House on Saturday, since contracting Covid-19, and plans to hold a rally in Florida on Monday.

Meanwhile, India's Covid-19 tally neared 7 million mark. As of Saturday morning, the number of total infection stood at 6,979,423, as per the figures published by the Union health ministry.

Indonesia reports 4,294 new coronavirus infections

Indonesia on Saturday reported 4,294 new coronavirus infections to bring the total tally of 328,952, data from the country's Covid-19 task force showed.

The Southeast Asia country also reported 88 more people have died from the virus, the lowest daily number in a week. Indonesia's total number of coronavirus deaths now stands at 11,765.

Hindu Rao hospital's Covid-19 patients to be transferred to state run facilities

Covid-19 patients who are being treated at Hindu Rao hospital in Delhi, will be transferred to state government run hospitals as doctors and staff announce strike over salary issue, health minister Satyendar Jain said.

"Staff of the hospital should be paid their salaries. If Municipal Corporation of Delhi is not able to run Hindu Rao, and Kasturba hospitals, then they should handover them to State government," said Jain.

A case was filed against BJD MLA Umakanta Samantray after he attended the funeral of party leader Pradeep Maharathy despite testing positive for Covid- 19, police said on Saturday.

The case was registered at the Sea Beach Police Station in Puri on Friday night.

Ladakh records 85 new Covid-19 cases; 346 patients cured

The Union Territory of Ladakh reported 85 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the virus caseload to 4,987, an official bulletin said on Saturday.

With 346 more patients cured of the infection, the number of active cases in the region dropped to 1,038 -- 772 in Leh district and 266 in Kargil district, the bulletin released by the directorate of health services said.

US President Donald Trump said he was "medication free" and revealed more details of his fight with Covid-19 in a televised interview aired Friday, one week after he was hospitalized with the virus.

"Right now I'm medication-free, I'm not taking any medications as of, you know, probably eight hours ago," Trump said in televised interview.

Mainland China reports 15 new Covid-19 cases

Mainland China reported 15 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus on Oct. 9, down from 21 a day earlier, the country's national health authority said on Saturday.

All the new cases were imported infections involving travellers from overseas, the National Health Commission said in a statement.
