After recovering from the first wave of coronavirus, the world is setting to return to lockdowns as the number of global cases has crossed 44 million. Germany is looking forward to partial shutdown of bars and restaurants, France may enter into a fresh month-long lockdown.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 cases in New Delhi breached the 5,000-mark yesterday, with the national capital recording 5,673 cases in 24 hours. As per the union health ministry, the country is reporting a steady decline in active coronavirus infections but a spurt of cases is seen in Delhi, West Bengal, Karnataka, TAndhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

India recorded 49,881 cases on Wednesday with 517 deaths. The total cases include 603,687 active cases, 7,315,989 recoveries and 120,527 deaths.

Currently total active cases in the country constitute to 7.65%.

1,790 new Covid-19 cases in Rajasthan, 11 more die

Rajasthan recorded 11 more deaths due to Covid-19 on Thursday, raising the toll to 1,888, while 1,790 fresh cases brought the infection count to 1,93,419 in the state, according to a health department bulletin.

The state has 15,554 active cases of the novel coronavirus.

Nearly 11 lakh tests have been conducted daily on an average during the past six weeks, it also said.
