Highlights: Maharashtra reports 4,153 new Covid-19 cases

India on Sunday logged 44,059 new Covid-19 cases and 511 deaths in last 24 hours, according to the Union health ministry data. The nation’s tally now stands to over 9.13 million. The death toll has risen to 133,738.

Meanwhile, Delhi on Sunday Delhi recorded 6,746 fresh Covid-19 cases and a positivity rate of 12.29 per cent while 121 more fatalities pushed the death toll to 8,391, authorities said.

These fresh cases came out of the 54,893 tests conducted on Saturday, including 23,433 RT-PCR tests, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Delhi health department.

Travellers from Delhi, Goa, Rajasthan and Gujarat entering Maharashtra need to show Covid-19 negative test report

-- The passengers travelling in flights from Delhi, Rajasthan, Goa and Gujarat will have to produce negative RTPCR report on landing at airports in Maharashtra. The rest should have done 72 hours prior to the scheduled journey.

-- The passengers travelling in trains from these four states will have to produce the negative report obtained 96 hours prior to journey on arrival.

-- People travelling by roads to Maharashtra will have to undergo screening at the check posts borders. The people with symptoms will have to undergo antigen test. If found positive, the traveller will have get admitted to Covid centre by bearing the cost of treatment.

Capacity of beds to increase to 3,000 for Covid patients in Delhi-NCR: SS Deswal

"We will expand the operational capacity of beds from 2,000 to 3,000, for the treatment of Covid-19 patients in Delhi-NCR. These added beds will also include oxygen supply facility," said SS Deswal, DG, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Covid Care Centre at Chhatarpur, as quoted by ANI.

"There are nearly 550 patients admitted & patients admitted here are those who can't afford private & high-end hospitals. There is enough supply of oxygen and there are sufficient doctors, nurses & pharmacists to cater to 3,000 patients at the Centre," he added.
