The coronavirus pandemic, which has killed over 16,000 and infected more than 375,000 people worldwide, is forcing nations to impose tougher measures to curb the spread of Covid-19. PM Boris Johnson has placed a strict curfew in UK to enforce social distancing and banned gatherings of more than two people, allowing people to leave homes for only four specified reasons.
In India, many cities are under lockdown, domestic flights banned and incoming traffic has been stopped at 107 immigration check points. The number of positive cases is 519 and the death toll is at 10, as per the Health Ministry.

Manipur records northeast India's first Covid-19 case
Manipur on Tuesday recorded the state and the northeast region’s first Covid-19 case after a woman student who returned from London last week tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
Test conducted on the throat and nasal swabs of the student at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) at Imphal in Manipur showed that she was positive for Sars-Cov-2 infection.
China's Hubei province to remove travel bans starting March 25
The Health Commission for China's Hubei province said on Tuesday it will remove all travel restrictions in and out of the province on March 25, with the exception of the city of Wuhan, the provincial capital and the epicentre of the country's coronavirus outbreak, reports Reuters.
Travel restrictions for leaving Wuhan will be lifted on April 8, and people will be able to leave on the basis of using a health code, the commission said. The city has been under lockdown since Jan. 23.

'Stay at home' New Zealand PM urges ahead of coronavirus lockdown
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on Tuesday urged New Zealanders to reduce contacts to a bare minimum to help fight the coronavirus, as the country prepared for a one-month lockdown.
New Zealand's cases of the coronavirus crossed the 100 mark this week as the government imposed self-isolation for everyone, with all non-essential services, schools and offices to be shut for a month from midnight on Wednesday.
"Simplest thing is to stay at home ... that's how we will save lives," Ardern told a news conference at parliament.

Kerala goes into complete lockdown
Kerala goes into complete lockdown till March 31 to prevent spread of coroanvirus. This was announced in a state government notification. Giving the reason for the lockdown, the notification said that the state govt was satisfied that there is a strong possibility of a widespread outbreak of coronavirus in the state. It has listed the regulations and measures for the lockdown period.
Trump signs executive order to prevent medical supplies hoarding
US president Donald Trump has signed an executive order to prevent hoarding of vital medical supplies and personal protective equipment as the country for the first time registered over 130 deaths in a day due to coronavirus, reports PTI.
Till Monday, more than 43,700 confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported in the United States. Of these, over 10,000 were added in one day, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles COVID-19 cases. With 139 deaths, the number of fatalities crossed 550 by Monday night.
Signing the executive order, Trump said his government would take action against hoarding and excessive pricing of vital medical and personal protective equipment as well as supplies such as hand sanitisers and face masks.
