Results for Uttarakhand panchayat elections will be declared on Monday, October 21. Counting of votes will begin at 8 am and continue till the completion of the process.
Elections were held in the state's 12 districts except Haridwar in three phases. Nearly 30 lakh voters cast their votes in over 7,000 gram panchayats on October 5, 11 and 16.
Overall 69% voting was recorded, according to official records.
This time many seats for posts of gram pradhan, member gram panchayat, member zila panchayat and member kshetra panchayat remained uncontested.
Official records show that of the total 21,504 reserved posts, 852 posts for Scheduled Tribe, 7855 posts for Scheduled Caste and 867 posts for Other Backward Classes remained uncontested. Over 18000 posts reserved for women candidates in the state also remained uncontested. The election commission will conduct by-elections for these vacant seats within a month’s time as otherwise panchayat governance will be affected due to the non-formation of gram sabhas.

Over 1000 results for gram pradhans announced
In Uttarakhand panchayat polls, 1,212 results have been announced for gram pradhans so far. The maximum results are from Pauri Garhwal with 252 candidates winning the polls. 259 results have been announced for member Kshetra panchayats.
Newly-wed wins Gram Pradhan election in Manorathpur
Hina Parveen, who arrived in Manorathpur village as a new bride a month ago, has won the Gram Pradhan election. Her sister-in-law Shahnaz Parveen, the previous Pradhan, was sacked by the DM before she could complete her term.
MLA Ram Singh Kaira's wife wins Kukna BDC member seat
Kamlesh Kaira, wife of Uttarakhand MLA Ram Singh Kaira, has won the Kukna Block Development Committee member seat. The seat falls in Okhalkanda block of Nainital district. Kamlesh Kaira is also contesting the post of BDC head.
BJP wins zila panchayat member poll in Kumaon's Madkot
The first result for zila panchayat member has come from Kumaon's Madkot in Pithoragarh. Deepa Pangti has won on this seat by 400 seats.

In a thrilling contest, Deepa Negi won the Nekana Gram Pradhan poll, defeating her nearest rival by just two votes. The Nekana gram sabha comes under Ramgarh block of Nainital distric.

So far, 182 results have been announced for gram pradhan posts, while two results have been announced for Kshetra Panchayat.
