A day after Donald Trump was lavishly welcomed by India, US President and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held extensive talks on several issues including trade and signed deals.
On his day 2 in India, US President Donald Trump started his day by attending a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi at 10 am, followed by a visit to Rajghat. The first lady Melania Trump visited a school in Delhi.
At the meeting held in New Delhi's Hyderabad House, Trump and Modi got down to business during the delegation-level talks. Besides the signing of the defence deals and at least five memorandum of understanding (MoUs) on issues ranging from natural gas, trade facilitation to civil nuclear cooperation, the two leaders also reviewed the global and regional situation and discussed ways to take forward bilateral relations.
Later the US President met CEOs of Indian companies, interacted with press at the US embassy and then attended a state banquet at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Since I took office, US exports to India are up nearly 60%: Trump
"During our visit, we discussed the importance of a secure 5G wireless network and the need for this emerging technology to be a tool for freedom, progress, prosperity, not to do anything with where it could be even conceived as a conduit for suppression and censorship," Donald Trump further said.
"Our teams have made tremendous progress for a comprehensive trade agreement and I'm optimistic we can reach a deal of great importance to both countries. Since I took office, US exports to India are up nearly 60% and exports of high quality American energy have grown by 500%," he added.
We affirmed our commitment to protect our citizens from radical Islamic terrorism: Trump
"In our discussions, PM Modi and I affirmed our two countries' commitment to protecting our citizens from radical Islamic terrorism. In this effort the US is also working productively with Pakistan to confront terrorists who operate on its soil," US President Donald Trump said after his talks with PM Modi in Hyderabad House.
India to purchase more than $3 billion advanced American military equipment: Trump
"Earlier today we expanded our defence cooperation with agreements for India to purchase more than US$ 3 billion of advanced American military equipment, including Apache & MH-60 Romeo Helicopters - finest in the world. These will enhance our joint defence capabilities," Trump said.

"We, India and US, have decided to enhance efforts to hold supporters of terrorism accountable," PM further said.
"We will cooperate in ensuring rules-based mechanism including for Indo-Pacific. We have agreed to initiate negotiations for big trade deal, we are confident that it will yield good results. India and US committed to openness, fair and balanced trade," Modi added.
