A day after Donald Trump was lavishly welcomed by India, US President and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held extensive talks on several issues including trade and signed deals.
On his day 2 in India, US President Donald Trump started his day by attending a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi at 10 am, followed by a visit to Rajghat. The first lady Melania Trump visited a school in Delhi.
At the meeting held in New Delhi's Hyderabad House, Trump and Modi got down to business during the delegation-level talks. Besides the signing of the defence deals and at least five memorandum of understanding (MoUs) on issues ranging from natural gas, trade facilitation to civil nuclear cooperation, the two leaders also reviewed the global and regional situation and discussed ways to take forward bilateral relations.
Later the US President met CEOs of Indian companies, interacted with press at the US embassy and then attended a state banquet at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

On US trying to get a peace deal with the Taliban in Afghanistan, Trump says people want to see it happen. People happy that we are trying very hard. After 19 years, we would like to bring back our young people home.
"Yes, I spoke to PM Modi on it. I think India would like to see it happen. We are pretty close. Everybody is happy about it. India would like to see that happen. We'll see what happens. We have been there (in Afghanistan) for 19 years. People are really happy to see that we are trying very hard in Afghanistan. There is tremendous praise for what we are doing. We are not a police force. After 19 years, we'd like to bring our young people back home. We want to watch the area, and want them to know that if something happens, we'll hit them very hard. We can act as military force to win, and not like a police force for law enforcement.": Trump
