US Election 2020: VP Debate between Kamala Harris, Mike Pence ends

The Vice Presidential Debate, which lasted for 90 minutes has ended.

Vice President Mike Pence is accusing Joe Biden of planning to add members to the US Supreme Court if the Democrats “somehow win this election.” Pence said at Wednesday's vice presidential debate: “I tell you people across this country, if you cherish your Supreme Court, if you cherish the separation of powers, you need to reject the Biden-Harris ticket come November,” reports AP.

Panelists Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence are now entering the final topic of the debate which is the Presidential Elections. Harris said that Joe Biden has a deep seeded commitment to fight for democracy and to fight for integrity of democracy and to bring integrity back to the White House. Harris urged everyone to vote and criticized Trump's behavior during the Presidential Debate.

President Donald Trump is apparently watching the vice presidential debate and thinks Mike Pence is doing “GREAT,” but he’s not so hot about the Democratic nominee or the moderator’s performance, reports AP.

The US vice presidential debate on Wednesday night will pitch Kamala Harris, the first woman of color on a major ticket, against a conservative male vice president - and some Americans, especially women, are gearing up to watch the fight, reports Reuters.

Now the panelists shifted their focus towards racial justice and recent killing of black American citizens by police. Senator Kamala Harris spoke about George Floyd's death and said that American citizens irrespective of age, race and gender marched shoulder to shoulder towards achieving the objective of equal justice under law. She pointed out at there is a need to reform policing and the criminal justice system in the country. Meanwhile, Vice President Pence condemned the deaths of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd adding that justice will be served.

Vice President Mike Pence says hesitation on behalf of the Obama administration is to blame for the death of a humanitarian worker Kayla Mueller, who was killed and abused by Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Relatives of Kayla Mueller were among Pence’s guests at Wednesday night’s debate.

Moving from Covid-19, jobs, taxes, climate change and foreign policy, the two panelists have now moved to discussing the United States Supreme Court. Pence praised attorney Amy Coney Barrett adding that she will bring a lifetime of experience and size able American Family to the United States Supreme Court. He alleged that Harris attacked one of Republicans Judicial nominees for being a member of the Knights of Columbus Catholic Church.

The vice presidential debate is much more cordial than last week's raucous presidential debate with frequent interruptions and outbursts. Senator Kamala Harris acknowledged Vice President Mike Pence’s phone call to her the day she accepted the Democratic vice presidential nomination, while Pence acknowledged the well wishes from his Democratic rivals toward President Donald Trump after the president was diagnosed with Covid-19 last week, reports AP.

Kamala Harris sharpened her attack on the Trump administration by saying that President Trump betrayed friends, embraced dictators. She highlighted that Russia interfered in the 2016 US Presidential Elections. She also said that Trump's unilateral approach to foreign policy coupled with isolationism led to US pulling out of the Iran Nuclear deal and making the country less safer.

Kamala Harris said that President Donald Trump's trade war with China led to loss of 300,000 manufacturing jobs. She added that farmers experienced bankruptcy and there is a manufacturing recession because of it.

During the discussion about China, Vice President Mike Pence said that President Trump suspended all travel from China, the second-largest economy in the world. Joe Biden opposed that decision, he said it was xenophobic and hysterical, reports AP.

Amid the ongoing discussion about the Covid-19 crisis, Vice President called Affordable Care Act- introduced by the Obama administration is a disaster.

Moving from discussing the country's Covid-19 response, Senator Kamala Harris attacked President Donald Trump tax bills by saying that Trump measures economy's strength based on how rich people are. Meanwhile, Pence said

While the Vice-Presidential Debate is witnessing an element of decency as both panelists- Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence are putting their points, listening to each other and obeying the debate rules, Pence slammed Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden of copying the Trump administration's plan to fight the coronavirus, dredging up charges of plagiarism that helped sink Biden's first presidential run in 1988, reports Reuters.
