'Our forces vigilant and protecting our borders': Rajnath Singh in LS

The contentious citizenship bill, which has created strong resentment in the Northeastern states and is dubbed as "divisive" by opposition, was cleared by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday and is set to be tabled in Parliament.

Two important bills were moved for consideration by Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

The minister will introduce the Appropriation (No.3) Bill, 2019. The bill will authorise payment and appropriation of certain further sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India for the services of the financial year 2019-20.

Sitharaman will also move the International Financial Series Centres Authority Bill, 2019 for consideration. This bill is to provide for the establishment of an Authority to develop and regulate the financial services in India and for matters connected therewith.

In the Rajya Sabha, a bill concerning the regularisation of unauthorised colonies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi will be tabled for consideration and passing by Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri. The list of business also includes tabling of several papers and reports.

Home Minister speaks on the issue of mob lynching in RS

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke on the issue of mob lynching in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. He said, "To tackle this issue and to invite suggestions, the government had created a committee of ministers, they have held a meeting and the government is aware of the matter. Action in such cases is taken under section 300 and 302 of Indian Penal Code."

Replying to the notice given by Congress MP, defence minister Rajnath Singh said, "There are perceptional differences about the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between the two countries and sometimes incidents of incursion occur, I accept it. Sometimes the Chinese Army enters here and sometimes our people go over there. In case of any incident of confrontation, the armies on both sides do not let it escalate. There are mechanisms to tackle such issues. "


Rajnath Singh says,"I would like to assure the House that our forces are vigilant and protecting our borders. Our forces are fully capable of facing any challenge, nobody should have a doubt about it."

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury raises issue of 'Chinese encroachment in Arunachal' in LS

Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, in Lok Sabha, raised the issue of 'encroachment in Arunachal Pradesh. He said, "Pakistan shelters terrorists and China shelters Pakistan. China has started sending ships till Andaman & Nicobar. We keep an aggression in our voice when it comes to Pakistan, then why are we balanced soft towards China?"

Bill for regularisation of illegal colonies in NCR to be moved in RS

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will move the Recognition of Property Rights of Residents in Unauthorised Colonies) Bill, 2019 in Rajya Sabha today. This Bill will provide special provisions for the National Capital Territory of Delhi for recognising the property rights of residents in unauthorised colonies. This Bill will secure the rights of the ownership or transfer or mortgage in favour of the residents of such colonies who are possessing properties on the basis of Power of Attorney, Agreement to Sale, Will, possession letter or any other documents including documents evidencing payment of consideration. The Bill has been passed by the Lok Sabha and is in the Upper House for consideration and passage.

Congress Chief Whip in Lok Sabha Kodikunnil Suresh has given Adjournment Motion Notice in Lok Sabha over the issue of 'Chinese intrusion reported in Andaman & Nicobar islands'.
