Parliament Winter session enters Day 2

The second day of the winter session of the Parliament saw heated exchanges between the Opposition and the Centre on removal of SPG cover of the Gandhis'.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned by the Upper House Chairman and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu after few lawmakers started raising the JNU issue, as the former had earlier requested to pay attention to important matters at hand.

Nishikant Dubey, BJP MP from Jharkhand raised the issue of cyber crime and left-wing extremism affecting several parts of Jharkhand while TMC MP Pratima Mandal raised the issue of gender neutral toilets for transgenders. Tapir Gao, BJP lawmaker from Arunachal expressed his concern over Chinese aggression and asked the government to help prevent Doklam-like situations from happening. Discussion will continue in the Lok Sabha on the Bill designed to further amend the Chit Funds Act, 1982, as finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will look to move the Bill. The second day of the winter session of the Parliament will see Union minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan move the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill, 2019 along with the motion to further amend the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 in the Rajya Sabha. He will also seek to withdraw the National Commission for Human Resources for Health Bill, 2011 in the Upper House.
