Members of the opposition continued to boycott Parliament proceedings over the suspension of eight Rajya Sabha MPs and Centre’s refusal to accept their demand for withdrawing of the farm bills passed earlier.
Both, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were not left with any option but to hurriedly pass important bills in Parliament.
The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned sine die. The Monsoon Session, that was scheduled to go on till October 1st, was cut short in the wake of Covid-19 crisis.
Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad will meet President Ram Nath Kovind at 5 pm on Wednesday over the farm Bills and the suspension of the eight MPs, news agency PTI said.
Meanwhile, The Lower House will meet at 6pm on Wednesday and is likely to cut short the session, people familiar with the matter said on condition of anonymity. The National Education Policy, underachievement of TB elimination program, domestic violence amid the Covid-19 pandemic are some of the topics that will be likely discussed.

Jitendra Singh, Union Minister and MP from Udhampur said that in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, official languages provision existed from 1957 - Urdu and English were accepted as official language. After becoming a union territory, many past anomalies had to be corrected he added.

The three Bills namely, Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 and the Code of Social Security, 2020, were moved for passing by Union labour minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar. These three bills were passed by the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, reports ANI.
