Opposition parties on Monday attacked the government over the CAA, NPR and NRC in Parliament. The Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC), Left parties, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and some others had given adjournment notices in the Rajya Sabha for demanding immediate discussion on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), National Population Register (NPR) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC), they said.

Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi has alleged that controversial remarks of BJP leaders had "tacit approval from the top" and said that democracy is not about only winning and losing elections but also understanding the true meaning of India, reports ANI.
Participating in the debate on the Motion of Thanks to President's Address in Parliament, Gogoi targeted the BJP-led government over police action over protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
He also targeted the ruling BJP for choosing Parvesh Sahib Singh as its first speaker of the debate, saying the West Delhi MP had been barred for 96 hours from campaigning in Delhi by the Election Commission over his controversial remarks.
"This shows the attitude of the BJP. He was banned by the Election Commission but is supported by the BJP," he said.

Shiv Sena member Vinayak Raut takes on the central government on the various schemes announced by it. He gives the example of Ujjawala Scheme, saying thousands in Maharashtra are waiting to get the benefit under the scheme.
He said that unemployment is a big problem in the country today, not NRC.
Vinayak Raut also said that "you (BJP) cannot teach Hindutva to us", when the BJP members tried to interrupt him.
"If you have courage, give Bharat Ratna to Savarkar," he said.
