Maharashtra Government formation Live Updates| ‘Together in this fight’: Sharad Pawar backs Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray

Sena Rajya Sabha MP Raut said that Ajit Pawar left the meeting in a way that it seemed clear he was going to commit a crime. He said that his mobile was switched off after 9 PM last night.

The Sena MP lambasted the BJP and said that the BJP has insulted the legacy of Shivaji. He said he would not say anything about Fadnavis because he knows BJP will do anything to cling on to power.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut accuses the BJP of back stabbing the people of Maharashtra. He says that people of Maharashtra will never forgive this.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar has distanced himself from Ajit Pawar's decision to support the BJP. He says that the decision taken by his nephew to take up the role as Maharashtra's deputy chief minister was entirely personal.

Ajit Pawar's decision to support the BJP to form the Maharashtra Government is his personal decision and not that of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah congratulated the duo after they staked claim to form the government early Saturday morning. The leaders met Governor BS Koshyari and asked him to revoke the President's rule at 5:47 AM following which they were sworn-in .

The Congress lawmaker and senior lawyer said that he is amazed that the NCP and BJP staked claim to form the government. He tweeted that the negotiations took too long which gave and 'fast movers' fill in the space created during these discussions. In his tweet, he was also surprised by the Pawars. He wrote, 'Surreal wht I read abt #Maharashtra. Thought it was fake news. Candidly &personally speaking, our tripartite negotiations shd not have gone on for more than 3 days...took too long. Window given was grabbed by fast movers. #pawarji tussi grt ho! Amazing if true, still not sure'

Fadnavis was clear that allies Shiv Sena had not respected the people's mandate and for Maharashtra to remain under President's rule would not be good for its development.
