Political developments in Maharashtra moved quickly on Monday with the resignation of Arvind Sawant, the lone Shiv Sena member in the Union government, and the NCP and the Congress holding separate meetings to decide on support to the Sena for government formation. The NCP said it will wait for the Congress to meet its state leaders and come at a decision before taking a final call, and Congress held back its support to a possible Shiv Sena-led government.
Another Congress core group meeting is going to be held tomorrow at interim party president Sonia Gandhi's residence.

“Shiv Sena and BJP had an alliance after Amit Shah had met Uddhav Thackeray and agreed to a 50:50 formula for every post including the chief minister’s. They have broken this trust and even worse, they have said that no such arrangement was agreed upon,” Arvind Sawant said after submitting his resignation from the BJP-led government.

Congress leader Manikrao Thakre said in Mumbai, "Key state leaders will reach Delhi for the meeting at 4pm after which the party will announce its decision on formation of the government in Maharashtra. There are mixed views among the state MLAs over supporting Shiv Sena-led government, but the final decision will be taken by the party high command."

'Decision only after discussions with Congress': Sharad Pawar
NCP chief Sharad Pawar has said any decision about support to the Shiv Sena will be taken after discussing the matter with the Congress. "We’ll have a word with Congress today. Whatever decision is to be taken will be taken only after discussions with Congress,” the NCP chief was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
