Lockdown 4.0 highlights: Khan Market, Karol Bagh, Chandni Chowk can open now

The fourth phase of the lockdown in India will start from May 18 and last till May 31.

As the nation gears up to enter the fourth phase of the lockdown, which will commence from Monday, MHA has announced the new guidelines for the phase.

The fourth phase of the lockdown in India will start from May 18 and last till May 31.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that the lockdow 4.0 will be different in nature as new rules and relaxation will be implemented. Centre's guidelines on the same are likely to be announced shortly today.

The third phase of the lockdown witnessed considerable relaxations in measures with standalone stores lifting shutters, liquor shops opening up and 15 special passenger trains resuming service ever since the Railways suspended operations on March 25.

MHA allows sports complexes , stadia to open in Lockdown 4

Ministry of Home Affaris on Sunday permitted sports complexes to open up from Monday in the fourth phase of the lockown.

It has possibly cleared the path for a resumption of the training of athletes which came to a halt in mid-March.

The latest lockdown guidelines state that "all other activities will be permitted, except which are specifically prohibited", which means marketplaces - like GK-2, Khan Market, Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, Chandni Chowk can open now. Till now, marketplaces were not allowed to open. Shopping malls, however, will continue to be shut till May 31.
