Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday recorded 1,570 fresh coronavirus infections, pushing its caseload to 1,38,668, while a higher number of 2,161 patients were discharged following recovery, an official said.

With single-day addition of 983 new infections, the Covid-19 tally in Maharashtra's Nashik district rose to 81,895 on Tuesday, a health official said.

Andhra Pradesh in the last 24 hours reported 5,795 fresh Covid19 cases, taking the overall count of coronavirus cases in the state to 7,29,307, said the state health department on Tuesday.

The Covid-19 death toll in Uttar Pradesh reached 6,153 on Tuesday with 61 more fatalities being recorded, while the infection tally jumped to 4,20,937 as 3,663 new cases surfaced in the state, a state bulletin said.
